I SO agree with you on this one ... the first thing I do - feel like it or not - I make the bed! My advice to my boys on cleaning up their rooms : make your beds and the room looks 3/4's done!!
I really try to every morning. The only problem is that I make it and then my son has his afternoon rest time in our room (so as not to disturb his sister who sleeps in their room) and there goes my efforts and I rarely get the chance to make it again so that my husband and I appreciate it!
Nope, doesnt bother me not made. Making it makes getting in to bed harder as I have to untuck it, take the top blanket off because its too hot. I concentrate on downstairs. Dont go in there in the day time anyway.
It doesn't bother me if it's not made... but it has been the key to keeping my bedroom clean. I am a dump clothes on the floor kind of person - gets into quite a pile and out of control before I do the big clean up and get it all tidy again. I like it tidy but don't seem to be able to keep it that way. It looks wrong to make the bed and have a messy room. So once I have the room tidy, I force myself to take those extra couple of minutes to make the bed and pick up the few pieces of clothing lying around in the morning. If I don't make the bed, I don't pick the clothes up. It's been a pretty useful strategy to keep on top of the mess and not let it get out of control.
